Volvo Repair: Volvo 940GLE sound system issues, david wilks, graphic equalizer

Hi Roger - the sound system (radio and cassette) on my car is just punching out noise.  Sometimes a clicking, other times a droning whine.  The facia plate makes it impossible to just buy an aftermarket replacement.  I also understand the amp is under the steering wheel and this model also has the graphic equalizer!  Any suggestions?  (I'm in Brisbane Australia and the model is a 1990 build sedan.)

DAvid, we replace those crappy radios all the time.  There are faceplate kits that are available and makes the aftermarket radio fit nicely in there.  I would remove all that junk and put a nice system in there.  If not luck in Australia, check the internet.  Roger
