I have 2000 Volvo S80 T6 the transmission service light came on how do I get the transmission service light off.

Answer
The transmission service light comes on only when the transmission control module registers a fault in the transmission, the controller, or the controller components.  With the S80's however it is almost ALWAYS the transmissions that fail.  That is actually a hydramatic transmission manufactured by General Motors.  Regardless of what caused the light and what the fix is, you will have to visit a dealer (or volvo specialist) to have the computers stored codes read off and cleared.  If the repair is not done though the light will eventually come back on.
