Volvo Repair: engine dies while running, mass flow meter, volvo 740

Question
I have a 1990 volvo 740 Turbo.  While driving the cars rpm drops to 0 and cuts off.  Now it will not fire when you turn it over. It has a new air mass flow meter and hose. what could it be.

Geary, sounds ignition related. Check to see if coil is sparking.  It may be 4 things.  The ignition power stage, the engine speed sensor, the distributor, or the ignition control unit is bad.  I havent seen a control unit go bad on those.  More that likely it will be the power stage or speed sensor but check the coil first.  Roger
