Volvo Repair: a/c compressor replacement, dryer filter, freon

Question
I have to replace the a/c compressor, dryer/filter and other a/c parts including the surpentine belt. Can I install these and the then take it to a shop to have the system purged and charged or will I do damage to the new compressor by driving it without freon in the system? Thanks.

you can do it your self you will not damage anything  when the system is empty it will not work anyway so you cant damage anyhing and if you install something wrong it will still not work  so you can  do the ac repair   your self give  it a try   and good luck
