Volvo Repair: Volvo 850 battery replacement, windshield wipers, volvo service

Question
We recently replaced the battery on our 94 850.  It does have a security system, but nothing really advanced.  When we replaced the battery the horn began to blow like a security breach.  We had to disconnect the fuse for the horn, which is also the fuse for the windshield wipers.  What did we do wrong?

Hi Jim,
          I don't have a straight answer to your alarm problem...my guess is that a part of a computer need to be reset...reprogrammed...It may be a simple answer...do this...in your best..kindest voice call the Volvo service dept.and ask them....DON"T waste their time with long extrainous dialogue...get to the point.ask how to keep this from happening again...also ask how to disconnect it...information owners of all cars with alarms should know how to do this...incase the thing goes bonkers....and they do.
