Volvo Repair: 1999 C70 Engine 2.3L vs. 2.4L, head job, 3l

Question
The heads are gone on my 2.3L & I've found a 2.4L engine that would be cheaper than what I've been quoted for a complete head job on the 2.3L.  Is that possible w/o any additional cost (ie: will changeover parts align)?

         My guess is...yes.
              However,if I were you I'd get another opinion.
            Unusual that you need head work...for such a  new model....did something break...belt?
