QuestionGreetings: My 1991 Volvo 240 with 2.4 LH fuel system stalls immediately after starting unless you pump the gas. Ignition system checks out OK. New plugs, wires, distributor, coil, fuel pump relay.
Another clue: previously, fuse #6 (fuel pump) would get pretty hot.
What's best to check next? thx
AnswerHello Andy...
I don't think #6 is the stalling problem...but a problem still exists if the fuse is hot...clean fuse contact areas with a small plumbers pipe round wire brush..install QUALITY brass fuses in all the fuse slots...THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFO....heed my words carefully....DISCONNECT A BATTERY CABLE while using brush to clean fusebox area.
As far as the stalling is concerned...check spray pattern of coldstart valve..
...check your fuel injectors spray pattern..injectors do fail...but it happens slowly.
Good luck Andy.
