2000 S40 volvo -- Getting the battery out so I can replace it

Hello Tim,  I may of answered this,if not here goes,there is a cover of molded black styrafoam.Lift it off and look for the 'hold down bolt.It is a 13 mm socket size.Use an extension and remove it.Disconnect the terminals and it lifts out.Its heavy use 'battery strap' or have your local auto store change it out for you.They can test it too!Thank You and good hunting!  PKD
