Volvo Repair: coolant -, combustion chambers, apparent leak

Question
What can be the cause of serious water loss. There is no apparent leak. volvo 940 (1993) 132000 miles. otherwise drives beautifully.

the water has to be leaking somewhere.whether it is an external leak from a hose or radiator or an internal leak into the transmission or engine oil or the head gasket is bad and the water is leaking into the combustion chambers nd being burnt off.I would have it checked as soon as possible to avoid possible further damage.
