Buick/Olds: Antifreeze, buick park ave, fine thomas
QuestionHello... I have a 96 Buick Park Ave. and I notice that the manual is very emphatic about not using any antifreeze other than the "specially formulated" GM Buick antifreeze. I would like to know if this is true. I have used "generic" antifreeze in many vehicles and have had no bad effect on the cooling systems. Should I go to he expence of getting "GM Buick" antifreeze from a dealer or will the standard product be just as good. Thank You...... Jim
AnswerI never suggest that you deviate from what the manufacturer recommends. There are several DIFFERENT types of ant-freeze and as long as you get a GENERIC that states that it is compatable for GM or BUICK products and follow the directives on the container, You should be just fine.
