Will my Cadillac (94) sts run if the serpentine belt does not go around the ac compressor pulley?

I doubt that the belt will stay on the other pulleys. Also whenever you go to use the climate control panel you are going to get a CHECK ENGNE light illumination on the dash due to the inoperative AC system which will also automatically shut off your cruise control due to the CHECK ENGINE light illumination.
