QuestionQUESTION: Transmission stuck in 2nd Gear (I recieved vehicle in this manner)
Replaced PCM,
Replaced Solenoids A & B,
Added new Filter Bracket
Persistent code P029
other codes (history)
T083 Dissapeared with replacing brake hose
T072 ?
S044 ?
Fluid was red - not brown when solenoids replaced. Solenoid B was broken, replaced A & B solenoids.
Is it possible this is a wiring problem where the broken solenoid fried a wire?
Also I am leaking some oil and have a coolant low message that will not go away
I am ready to replace transmission, but hate to invest the money if its not necessary or if it won't fix my problem.
ANSWER: P029 = Shift "B" solenoid problem.
Did you CLEAR (ERASE) all the codes from the computer after you fixed the problem ?.
---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------
QUESTION: Yes I cleared the codes using the cars built-in interface.
In fact I have cleared the codes several times,
after performing other repairs, and between a few test drives. The code P029 doesn't reappear until I drive the vehicle
AnswerOK, If you are very fluent with working ALL the aspects of the computer via the climate control panel I can provide a complete test of the code P029 electrical circuitry via the climate control panel for a complete accurate diagnosis of the trans problem. E-mail me at:
