Cadillac: 98 cadilac deville key cyl., broken wires, ohm meter

How do i remove the key cyl.Do i have to take the steering wheel off and air bag ?? Disabled start on screen,had key checked and decided to buy new cyl. due to broken wires i hope.

requires special tools to remove the steering components.

You can test the wires inside the column by putting an OHM meter on the key and then unplugging the 2 wire connector under the steering column and put the OHM meter on the 2 wires and see if the OHMS matches the key OHMS.
