Chevrolet: oil light, chevy beretta, oil light

Question
My oil light is on constantly on my 1996 chevy beretta v6. It indicates "low oil level" When I check my oil the level is fine. I have it changed every 3,000 miles. I have 102,000 miles on it and haven't had any problems with it as of yet. What could be the problem?

   HI - well it could be that the sending unit for the oil light is pluged or needs replacing or the oil psi. could be real  low , if you can hear the valves ticking loud than its the oil pump but if not than it is the oil light sending unit , I  would check the oil each gas fill up and if it is running fine and no ticking you can get away with it like that or wait  a bit till  you have it fixed .
