Chevrolet: idle on car, chevrolet impala, milage

Hello, I have a 2004 Chevrolet Impala.  it seems to be drinking up gas real fast.  what can be the problem.  i just got the car about 2wks.

      Hi , well if I were you and you just picked the car up , I would take it back and tell them to check it out.have you figured out the milage you get on a gal. of gas. I would not tell the shop that the gas is getting used up as they will just tell you thats how it is, so I would say to them that it runs bad and has been stalling and on the  free way  it runs poor. if you tell them something to that - you might get better results.
