I have a 1999 Chevy Malibu. The car died out on me while I was backing out of the driveway. The car cranks but It will not fire and start.
What do you think is the problem? The car has always ran great and I have always kept up with the maintenanance.

Hi Robert, did you check to see if it was getting fuel? If the fuel pump is running then it is most likly to be the ignition module. I hope this helps you, if you need more info just let me know
Hi Keith, no I did not check if it was getting fuel. How would I do that?
I did check for a fire spark and It was not gatting any fire, and I was not sure what to do about It.
Thanks
AnswerHi Robert, if there is no fire there are only a few things that it could be. the most common thing is the ignition modgule, but you need to make sure because it is a little expensive and once you buy it you cant take it back, it also can be the crank sensor, or even a broken wire or a blown fuse. So you should have a mechanic take a look at it before you start buying parts you dont need. I hope this helps you, let me know what you find. Regards, Keith.
