Dodge: engine stalls while driving, engine stalls, didge

i have a 1993 didge dakota 3.9 liter v 6. while driving engin stalls, looses all engine power. still has accesories. why?

The engine stalling has no effect on the accesories,the battery is what keeps the accesories powered.Does it stall as if it were starving for gas?If the engine is losing power while driving,you could have a stopped up catalytic converter.Do you hear any kind of unusual rattling from underneath the truck while driving.If so this will indicate the converter is broken and stopping the flow of the exhaust(restricting the exhaust system).
