Dodge: Removing Tailgate, generic question, aerodynamic drag

Hi: This is a generic question regarding pickup trucks. I have a
Toyota Tacoma truck and I was wondering if removing the
tailgate would reduce aerodynamic drag and increase my fuel
mpg a little. What do you think ?    Thanks ...Glenn

It may reduce the drag some but not enough to go through the trouble of removing it.I'd just leave the tailgate down if it is an issue.You can also buy something called an air net that will solve the problem.It shouldn't be using gas due to the tailgate.
