My gear shift indicator is broken on my 1999 Ford Mustang. How do I replace it? It is an automatic 3.8L, 6 cylinder, RWD. Thanks!

you are talking a lot of work to replace. there is a cable that runs to the transmission linkasge, first step would to pull the gauge set and check if the cable is hooked up, then check the end on the transmission, its hooked into the normal shift linkage. replaceing it can be a real pain.
