Ford: Rear Brakes, rear brakes, f 250
QuestionSometimes the rear brake on both sides of my 2005 F-250 heat up so hot you can not touch the rims. What is wrong? It does not happen all the time.
AnswerHello
If this is happening with an unloaded vehicle, a thorough brake inspection may reveal the problem.
A few possibilities are:
1 master cylinder or other , not allowing front brakes to work correctly.
2 Front calipers or slides sticking
3 Rear brakes over adjusted
4 sticking e-brake
5 Drums oversize
6 front rotors glazed ( not remachined when new pads installed)
