Ford: 2000 Ford Explorer, window latch, hatch area

Just had some items stolen from my vehicle. Was informed by police that my rear window latch/button was not locked. How can I lock it as I was not informed by the person I bought it from never told me? Tthe manual does not help.

the rear hatch door uses the power lock system .

You can lock/ unlock the rear door a few ways:

1 remote door lock fob

2 driver's or passenger lock/ unlock button.

3 key lock in rear (hatch)door.


and some have an electric switch on the inner fender inside the rear hatch area to unlock/ lock all doors.

Best bet, is to check all doors when you leave.
