Ford: ford suspension system, ford suspension, ball joints
QuestionI have a 1995 ford f150 rear wheel drive. when making a turn in either direction I can hear a low tone popping noise. then as the vehicle recovers straight out of the turn the vehicle oscillates up and down while driving straight for 50 to 100 feet. I suspect ball joints or some other load bearing item in conjunction with the steering
AnswerWell it sounds like a seized front axle u-joint, but you say it is rear wheel drive.
I would recommend a complete front end inspection. You can do this yourself with a jack and a 2 foot prybar and a helper, or a good shop will probably check it for $25 or less.
Ask them to be clear on what is needed, and what is recommended.
