Can I swap a tranny from a 92 f250 into a 97 f350 turbo's both auto's and diesel

The 92 came with 2 options for transissions, a C-6 square shaped pan with a notch or step 17 bolts, and an E4OD rectangular pan with a notch or step and 20 bolts.  They also had a 2WD and 4wd versions.

The 97 only had 2WD and 4wd versions of the E4OD

So, if the pan looks the same and they are both 2WD or 4WD, then it is a straight forward swap.

If anything else.... you will have to swap pieces and fit as needed, Mounts, electrical, driveshafts and other bits and pieces may be different.
