Ford: 79 f-250, heater core, f 250
QuestionI love my truck! But it has had a heater problem ever since I got it.I am told it is a real problem to replace the heater core as it is under the dash.If the truck is sitting still it will heat the cab eventually but going down the road forget it.Is there somewhere I can get instructions to replace it myself.
AnswerPhyllis, you can pick up a Chilton Manual at your local parts store. I am looking at my manual right now, and there are some pretty good diagrams and instructions on how to change it out. I will tell you that out of all the things I have worked on, changing out a heater core in one of these trucks is the most irritating thing I have done. But that is just me. However, I don't think that the heater core is your problem, so much as the blower motor isn't working. You might try bypassing the switch to see if it has gone bad. This will save you a lot of time changing out the blower. I am not for sure if I have really answered your question. Let me know if you have any problems. Jason
