GM-GMC: car starts then cuts off

my car  has a lt1 engine was hard to start but would start then crank nice after first start up. going to work wouldn't accelerate stop at light cut off would start then cut off.what could be the problem?

sounds like a back pressure issue, usually caused by a hole or crack in your exhaust manifold.

I would check that and also check your fuel regulator.

do you smell gas after it stops?
