GM-GMC: steering column, floor shift, z71

will an automatic steering column from a 92 z71 fit in a92 z71 floor shift

I suppose it would fit but you would have a shifter hanging off of the side of it?!  All the other wiring etc should be the same and the mounting bolts etc should be the same.  I have never tried to be honest so can't tell you for sure.
