QuestionQUESTION: I have a 1988 GMC S-15 pickup. I need to get information on how to repair my horn. The horn button is good as well as the spring and contact with the black plastic collar. I need to repair or replace the white sleeve that the black collar fits into. The white sleeve is is a round channel in the hub of the steering column. The white sleeve is chipped at the top and the black collar with the spring and contact won't stay seated in when it is inserted.
ANSWER: Is the white collar : grooved in a certain area ,so you cannot turn it say 90 degrees or 180 degrees ?
This might have to be purchased as a kit . Normally Gm does not sell individual parts
You other option is to go to a junk yard and get your part you need . bring your tools , steering wheel puller .

QUESTION: Dave,
The white plastic sleeve is chipped and "grooved area" is missing. This why the black collar won't stay in. What is the white sleeve called? What kit would this item be in.
