GM-GMC: Parking brake, parking brake cable, wd 40

I have a 2001 Chevrolet 1500 Pick Up.  Is there a way to adjust the parking brake?

Yes there is . On the parking brake cable you will see a nut on a threaded rod. If you turn the nut in the counterclockwise rotation you will loosen the adjustment . The clockwise to tighten .


Usually , you never have to mess with this adjustment ?

What is the issues .

TRY THIS FIRST !!!!!!!

Lubricate the cable under the truck . Spray with WD 40 .. soak it . Take a towel and keep it on one side and spray the bottle on the cable . at the same time , have the vehicle in park and have another person work the parking brake ON/OFF ON/OFF several times
