Mazda: fcc id on my mazda, fcc id, mazda dealer

I have a 93 mazda mx6 i recently purchased with a factory alarm.  There wasn't a remote (door lock/unlock), and I am able to purchase one but want to know if I can find out the fcc id without having to pay big bucks for the dealership to program the remote for me if I can do it myself.

Hi Kristen and thanks for the question.  I personally have no clue how to answer buy my experience is:
call your local Mazda dealer and ask for the parts department.  They should have a manual that tells how to program the remote as they would have to have this info if they sold you a new one.  This would be a favor from them, and if they are approached correctly they should be glad to help you.  Best of luck, Bud
