Mercedes: 1989 mercedes 300e window problems, side switch, wood grain

my drivers side window is the only window that will not go down.  the switch in the center console feels a little wierd and the previous owner said he spilled coffe on the center console.  i want to take off the wood grain cover of the center console so i can mess around with the switch and maybe exchange the drivers side switch with one of the others or just buy a new one, but i can't get the wood grain console piece off.. can you please help?

IF the console switches are rectangle, you  may be able to insert a flat putty knife on each side and release the switch latch and extract it.Take some masking tape and protect the plastic wood.
I do not have any info on how to take of the console components.
