how will i know my air flow sensor in my benz c180 1999 model is faulty? and what can a faulty air flow sensor cause?

The Mass Air Flow sensor reads the air coming into the intake plenum and signals the fuel injectors to provide the proper mix of fuel to air for proper combustion. A fault sensor can cause a no start condition or affect the performance of the engine.
There may be a code to indicate a bad sensor, or you will need to have the sensor checked by a technician.
