Mercedes: ML 320 AT Shift Linkage Bushing, mercedes benz e320, shift linkage

My wife's ML320 will start, but will not shift into gear.  The shifter moves freely but it will not shift into gear.  I believe it is the Shift Linkage Bushing.  What are the instructions for replacing the Shift Linkage Bushing?  Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I expect that the sift mechanism has failed. I would locate a good independent MB mechanic and talk with him/her.
Here is a link that discusses similar problems with the shifter. Spillage into the console can short out the electrical in the shifter...
