Mercedes: mercedes alarm/stereo, 420sel, hazard light

Question
I have a 1986 420sel with the factory Becker stereo.  The stereo is not functioning and asks for a code, which I think might also be related to the fact that the turn signals are operating crazily.  They both blink when activated & do not work when the headlights are turned on.  Any suggestions?

Your turn signal issue could be a bad hazard light switch or the security system may have activated and/or failed.
