Mercedes: Engine Oil Leak 1979 300TD, engine oil leak, drain pipes

1979 300TD 55,000 miles in New York
I have a oil leak that my mechanic said is coming form the oil pan and not to bother fixing it. Is that the case? It is constantly leaking on my garage floor. When I check the oil it never seems to be low.
