Mercedes: dash board lights, and electric mood roof, clutch adjustment, continental imports

i have a 1984 300d mercedes diesel turbo, the problem is my dash board or the lights around the buttons do not light up, i tried to turn the small knob according to the manuel, the head lights works and tail lights, can you tell me what the problem is. and the second problem is that when i push the button for the moon roof, i hear a motor just turning, the roof moves a little, what i see. and it shuts back a little bit.  what is the problem? and the third is, when i take off, the car jerks a little in 1st gear, meaning the transmission jerks a little, maybe this is the way it suppose to run. i have to push down on the accelerator hard to make the car move, when is gets up to speed it runs fine.
