when replacing trans. in 92 maxima how do i check if torque conv.is good or bad. bought tran. at j-yard. should i use one thats in old trans or the one from j-yard. any way of knowing good torque conv. from bad?

First Q: Which Maxima GXE or SE? Make sure the fluid is bright red. Use the one from the junkyard only. You will not have the tools or equip to check it so your going to have to gamble a little. The odds are greatly in your favor, Nissan converter failure is very rare.
