 Since you did not specify the year or model SAAB, I can only offer general information.  Most likely, it is the electrical ignition system, resulting in a poor spark, (or really deteriorated spark plugs, wires, or distributor).. Also, low fuel line pressure could also be at fault, but that would result in coldstartinbg and other problems as well.
