Saab: 95 Saab 900 Warning light, saab 900, warning light

On the main dash board instrument panel I have a warning light, round circle with a ! in the center, can you tell me what that means?

 As noted in my profile, my hands-on experience is limited to the pre 1993 900s. However, if I had to guess,it is some sort of warning, possibly the "check engine" alarm. Is everything still functioning normally?
