Saab: 1192 saab 900 2.0L turbo 16v, clutch pressure plate, air gap
Questiontrying to change the clutch and instructions state to use tol #83-93-175 or equivalant... what would be the equivalant
AnswerPatty:
I cannot find that tool designation [83-93-175) in all my references. Is it the spacer used to keep the clutch fingers depressed when removing the clutch/pressure plate assembly? If so, then for that, I made my own tool for changing the clutch by bending wire of 0.162 inch (approx 5/32") thickness into a circle of about 6 inches diameter with an air gap of 2 1/2 inches.
If the tool you referred to is to depress the clutch fingers when there is loss of hydraulics, then for that I use a large screwdriver, depressinbg the individual fingers one at a time while rotating the clutch pressure plate and allowing the homemade "circle-tool" fall into place beneath each finger.
Hope this helps,
Jerry
