Saab: 97 saab convertible se 2.0L, saab dealer, charging system

Question
My saab seemed to start hard, but today it just made the "starting sound" but would not turn over, my husband worked for saab dealer in the service dept but has pasted away, and now i'm lost without him, any suggestions on what to check.  thank you for your help, its very much appreciated. debbie

 It sounds like a weak battery to me. They DO wear out with time and use.When replacing a battery, it is also wise to check the charging system (alternator, regulator, etc). A malfunctioning charging system can cause similar problems.
