Saab: bosch fuel pump, bosch fuel pump, d jetronic

ive got a '79 99gl, that currently has a dead 0 580 254 078 bosch fuel pump in it.  Do you have the specs for these?  Also im looking at a 0 580 254 978 online. and i need to know if it will work the same as my '078' and what is the difference?

 The BOSCH 0 580-254 978 is the CORRECT fuel pump for the '79 SAAB. I could NOT find any reference to the '078 unit you said was dead. (I have a complete set of K, L, & D Jetronic manuals from 1969 through 1981).
 So therefore, it certainly seems that the "978" unit is appropriate for your car.
