Toyota (Failing Speedometer?)

2010-2011 Toyota Prius and 2009-2011 Toyota Camry

Problem: The speedometer may become inaccurate or stop working altogether.

Cause: A faulty speed sensor in the transmission can cause the speedometer to malfunction.

Solution: Toyota has issued a recall for the affected vehicles. Dealers will replace the speed sensor free of charge.

2008-2010 Toyota Highlander and 2008-2009 Toyota Sequoia

Cause: A faulty Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) module can cause the speedometer to malfunction.
