Volkswagen: 2001 Volkswagon Jetta, daytime running lights, euroswitch

How does the "Daytime Running Lights" on a 2001 Volkswagon Jetta operate?  Can the "Daytime Running Lights" be turned off manually?

You need to replace your light switch with a "euroswitch".  Here is a link to a site explaining it:

It's for a Passat, but if you follow the instructions for disabling them at the switch, it should work.
