Volkswagen: driver door regulator, t power, shad

hello
i was just wondering what the driver door regulator is suppose to operate.
sometimes it can be a little difficult to roll the window down and ever harder to roll it up

Sorry Jake I can't help much without knowing what year vehicle or what model.  However you should be able to remove the door panel and operate the mechanical handle (i assume it isn't power) and see something binding up... possible that it needs greased.
