Volkswagen: 2002 VW jetta 2.0 coolant fan, vw jetta, jetta 2

Question
I was jsut driving home last night from work and noticed that my temp gauge was overheating when i got on the highway so i pulled over and i stopped and shut it off and waited  jsut a few minutes to see if that would fix it and i thought that is did cause it was normal temp at an idle but it kept doing it so then i looked closer and the fans were not working is there a problem with these or anything i  can do to get them working again ?

If your fans are not coming on, either the fuse for them is blown, the fan control module has failed, or the fans themselves are no longer operational.  Turn  your a/c on and pop the hood to see if BOTH fans are running.  If not,...start with checking the fuse.
