Volkswagen: 95 Cabrio, wild goose chase, srs system

Took in for inspection,emissions ect. When picked car up, airbag light came on and stays on now for last 2 days. What is causing this?

David it could be one of many thinks in the srs system that has failed.  If you have a autoparts store local to you, many do free check engine light scans and some can pull SRS codes.  If you can get a code # for me, I may be of more help...I just don't want to send you on a wild goose chase.  These systems are complex and can be dangerous to work on.
