Volvo: volvo 740 station wagon 1991 wont start, gaspump, fuel pumps
Question
my sweet volvo
I drove my fully packed 740 station wagon (automatic / b230F engine) from
danmark to berlin and in a gas-station it would not start anymore. it was not
overheatet , and there were ignition sparks. waht could that be. I hope not the
gaspump. any guess?
AnswerStefan,
First things that are tested are the fuel pumps, main and pre pump and the spark. See if the pumps are working and providing the right amount of pressure, usually 42 psi. So if no power to the pump when cranking try a relay and read the fault codes, as they may shed some light on what happened.
