Volvo: 88 Audi Quattro 80, audi quattro, cold start

This car seems to not want to start when it is cold out.  Will start if it warms up outside.  Can you let me know what the problem is.

First I do not have any knowlege of the Audi. Second since it is a cold start problem, some testing needs to be made during the start up. Like is the throttle housing clean? Are the valve possibility carboned up? Is the fuel pressure correct? Are there any fault codes that need attention?
