Volvo: S60 rough transmission, volvo dealership, latest software

I recently had the Volvo dealership evaluate a rough shifting problem on my 2001 S60, especially from the stopped position.  They indicated that the software that came with the vehicle may have gotten "corrupted."  They downloaded new software.  The problem persists, though the stopped to starting jerk has improved.  Are there different software programs to be downloaded?

Yes there are different packages, but I would like to think that they used the latest. Only the dealer would be able to read and say whether it is the latest software. Just maybe there is another problem with the vehicle. Might be worth having the entire system tested.
