Volvo: 1995 850 glt shut off while driving, shift lock, parking lot

driving in parking lot shut down no sound at all when trying to start can not get out of park to push out of traffic any ideals? please help

When shifting the car you need first to apply the brake with the key on, that will release the shift lock. If that will not work with the key on push the shift lock button in the upper part of the shifter plate and move the lever.
Why the engine shut off will need some fault tracing.
